Mike A. Davis

Electrical Engineer & Coach

Coaching users of electrical machinery to understand failure processes and run equipment at optimum levels to prevent costly break downs.

For more than three decades I have run successful electrical machinery businesses. I am now sharing my lifetime of engineering experience and knowledge with the next generation of electrical technicians and electrical engineers. I do this through coaching and mentoring along with presenting technical papers at national and international conferences.

My key areas of experience:
  • The repair, redesign and maintenance of electrical rotating plant.
  • Developing and setting up maintenance test and inspection programmes for rotating electrical equipment across a broad range of industries.
  • Teaching and tutoring mathematics and the theory of rotating equipment.
  • Presenting conference papers in Australasia, South East Asia, USA and South Africa
  • Developing a widely acclaimed electrical machine maintenance course, presented to more than 50 companies and their maintenance teams over the last six years.

    Top three achievements
  • Establishing, running and selling two successful electrical machinery businesses
  • Winning the Australian Small Business of the Year award
  • Winning Australian Quality Award in 2000

Sharing a lifetime of experience and knowledge

With a strong understanding of how electrical machines are designed, operate and fail I can communicate with anyone in a company from apprentices to CEO and care about passing on my knowledge to new generations of technical staff working on electrical machines.

I have been actively involved in several Australian Standard committees for repair and maintenance of hazardous area machines and undertaken a statutory role as an accredited assessing authority for the New South Wales Department of Minerals and Energy.
